ISP/Ontology

Summer School in Ontology

A Six day course with:
Idel, Ladyman, Stiegler and Tarizzo

Grado, Italy
26th-31st August 2018

Subscribe to the newsletter, we'll send you two e-mails with updates on the abstracts and the final schedule.

Our school valorises the unavoidable pursuit of ontology, foregrounding the debate on this classical philosophical question. We do not intend to endorse one particular approach to ontology; on the contrary we have attempted to gather what we consider to be some of the most interesting philosophical perspectives of our time.

The 2018 edition will offer a cutting edge, high-quality programme, thanks to the participation of four leading contemporary philosophers: Moshe Idel, James Ladyman, Bernard Stiegler and Davide Tarizzo.

Our speakers

Programme

ISP/Ontology will provide a diverse and high-quality programme focusing on the classical questions of ontology. The course will foster a rich and lively intellectual exchange by addressing, in a rigorous and clear manner, different philosophical perspectives.

The summer school will start on 26th August and will end on 31st August. Each speaker will hold three seminars over three days (each seminar will be two hours long, including discussion).

The school will offer cultural evenings where you will have the chance to taste some of the local Italian produce. There will also be the option of a guided boat tour of the lagoon, with dinner on the boat.

The island – nowadays a picturesque touristic place surrounded by the lagoon – hosts key historical and archaeological sites.
